SNM is modernizing the control system for the hydraulic tables that provide mobility to the stands at the Stade de France.

On June 14th, the SNM Ile de France agency delivered a new hydraulic table control system to the Ponticelli group, enabling the reconfiguration of the stands at the Stade de France.

A sophisticated system for handling the stands at the Stade de France

The Stade de France features a modular grandstand system, the lower section of which can be moved to reveal an athletics track. This change in stadium configuration is made possible by hydraulic lifting tables that raise and lower the 32 100-tonne concrete slabs on which the stands are positioned. SNM is working with Ponticelli, the company responsible for the logistics and handling of the grandstands, to modernize and manage the control system that operates these lifting tables.

A new area of ​​expertise within the SNM Ile de France agency

SNM, a specialist in handling equipment, is integrating a design office with a new automation service into its Ile-de-France branch. It offers customized solutions dedicated to lifting equipment, such as control systems and load status monitoring, as well as weighing, video, and anemometer systems.

It is in this context that SNM was entrusted by Ponticelli with the reliability and technical support of the control systems for the lifting tables at the Stade de France, after having already worked on similar systems for handling road bridges.

Long-term technical monitoring.

Managing the hydraulic table control system at the stadium requires ongoing support, particularly during handling and adjustment operations. Three configurations are possible depending on the event: sporting matches, concerts, and athletics, requiring the mobilization of numerous technicians and handlers for more than four days. SNM will support Ponticelli during these configuration changes, which occur approximately ten times per year.
